Thanks for checking out my work and taking interest in what I love to do. Since you asked, here's a little bit about my story:
Art has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up as a kid always painting the world around me, using whatever medium I could get my hands on. This passion for creating has never decreased but it wasn't until I finished High-school that I started taking it more seriously.
This was when I started my studies in Mechanical Engineering with the outlook to specialise in Industrial Design, once I finish my undergraduate courses. Not exactly what you'd expect, right? At this point I could simply not imagine that there would be anyone interested in seeing my art.
As a compensation to the very technical and mathematic subjects I was attending at uni, I started painting even more, developing my skills without any artistic education or whatsoever. With the arrival of Instagram I opened an account to share what I was doing and get feedback and inspiration from the creative community (which I still appreciate and cherish so much!). This encouraged me to be more confident about my art and motivated me to always take the next step and challenge myself beyond of what I thought was possible.
During that time of self exploration and experimentation with different mediums I also tried watercolours for the first time (if you don't count my scribbles as a kid) and immediately knew this was something I absolutely wanted to learn. It wasn't exactly love at first sight – watercolour made it much to hard for me to love her at the start but we learned to get along with time and a lot of effort (mostly on my end).
What fascinates me about this medium is its complexity and flexibility to be imprecise and precise at the same time allowing for a huge variety of styles and looks. There are so many rules to learn and things to consider that it doesn't take more than one rash brushstroke to ruin a whole painting. Its ability to be soft and smooth and yet also crisp and detailed in itself is what I love most about working with watercolours.
I hope you enjoy my work, feel free to message me if you have any questions or requests!
